How to Travel: Packing Tips

I have always loved to travel and have been doing so since I was young. I have been fortunate to continue this passion with my family.

Cem and I have been traveling with the kids since they were babies, and now that they’re older, our vacations are changing into more adventurous destinations and further away from our home base in Dubai. This means that I am having to rethink my packing strategy and luggage choices/sizes.

We invested in Tumi luggage a few years ago, and they have proved themselves to be foolproof pieces that never disappoint. They have been lost, kicked (I’m sure), left at and airport and thrown around our house, at the rate we’re traveling, once every few weeks.

Traveling as much as I do, I had to change my packing strategy; I used to travel for a weekend and pack 10 outfits, 6 pairs of shoes and 4 purses. Now, I plan every outfit I am going to wear, lay them all out, only pack what I have prepared, and always try to bring the smaller suitcase (when I can of course). It takes a lot more prep to travel this way, but I have found its so much simpler, I get to the destination, unpack my outfits and have everything laid out exactly how I had it back at home. Makes my life easier, which I am always a fan of, and when things are simple in my family, everyone is happy.
