Artists for Peace and Justice: Dubai 2018

On the 7th December 2018 we brought the annual APJ Gala. Brilliant is Beautiful to Dubai for the first time at the Grand Millennium Hotel Business Bay. It was the biggest event I have had to put together and the biggest event Dubai has seen of its kind.

I was first approached by Paul Haggis in 2016 to co host the Brilliant is Beautiful event in London. It was a complete shock and there was always a thought in my head, why me? In March 2017 I got the opportunity to travel to Haiti with Paul and visit the schools and children there that the money raised at the events help. It was an amazing experience, one I will never forget, and then I knew why me.

Hollywood’s Biggest Stars in Dubai for Charity

When I moved to Dubai, I thought to myself how am I going to be able to continue working with APJ, would I need to fly back and forth to London. That’s when I pitched the idea of hosting in Dubai. It gave us the opportunity to spread the word of the charity to a wider audience and let’s be honest, there is money here! From there we worked together to make it all become a reality.

I had the honour of co hosting with a line of Hollywood stars. Some of which had never even been to Dubai. We were joined by Ben Stiller, Susan Sarandon, Madeleine Stowe, The Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson. Virgin radios’ Kris Fade presented the night and done an amazing job of interacting with the crowd. Also my dear friend Natalie Imbruglia performed on the night. Another close friend of mine, Sachi Jafri performed a live painting during the night. Which we then had all the stars add their names too, it was then sold at auction with all proceeds going straight to the charity. The evening ended with a closing set from DJ Betto.

Throughout the evening we had a live auction, special performances, an awards presentation and seated dinner. During the seated dinner the stars served the guests, Susan Sarandon, Natalie Imbruglia, Sarah Ferguson and I became waitresses for the evening!

It was a very proud moment in my life. An evening filled with love, room filled with people that really came together for a great cause. I felt empowered standing on the stage looking at everything we had put together. It was a life achievement and it wont be the last.

If you would like to donate to the charity please click on the following link, I have a lot of time for the charity and the work that they do. Please join me and help to support them, like you have always supported me.

Thank you, all my love always, Caroline x
