Beauty & Fitness
Relocating to Dubai has given me a whole new outlook on fitness, nutrition and living a healthy lifestyle. I’v asked myself what motivates me to make these new changes in my life, and I often wonder if it’s because I am getting older, I have more time free, or is it simply because I wake up everyday knowing that the sun will be brightly shining motivating me to make the most of my day.
I aim to do something active everyday, whether its working with a trainer, taking a class or just hitting the gym, for me, I find it important to keep to a daily routine. It’s easy for me to fall out of shape and loose my drive; missing a few days because you get busy, you’re out of town, or simply just don’t feel like going, I tend to notice a difference in my body, cardio and strength within days. Adapting to my new life here, I have learnt what works for my body and the key, for me, is shedding body fat, instead of weight. I actually weight more now on the scale, but my clothes fit better and I feel great. I don’t deprive myself or my family of eating treats, I just make a point of finding substitutes for sugar, we still eat chocolate pudding, it just has a different spin on the taste.
As busy mums know, it is easy to have your head split in 57 different directions, and taking the time to focus on what you want, and how to get there can be hard to keep on track. At the end of the day, nothing beats a cup of camomile tea and magnesium, it isn’t glamorous but it really does help. You know its quite funny, ill be out all night dancing and then come home, have my standard Alka-Seltzer drink and some camomile tea and call it a night haha.
